Ah... you have wonderful timing. I'm glad you're here.

Have a seat. I'll bring you some tea.

[he'll take a seat though]

You do. I was going to call you tonight, if you didn't come off the ship again.

[ fixing things up... eventually brings over a tray for him with tea and some small snacks. The usual. ]

You're really sure about this, hmm?

Thanks. [at the tea and snacks]

[ sits beside him. ]

I wasn't invited back, regardless. So I suppose I must stay home.

You... weren't?

That doesn't make any sense?

Why not? The whims of the boat seem fickle, truly.

[ Pours him a cup of tea, finally, and hands it over. ]

Are you going to miss me?

[takes it, but doesn't drink yet]

Obviously, yes.

[ Pauses, genuinely surprised. ]

... Is that so? I hadn't expected it...

Peony. You've been the greatest constant in my life for the past near decade.

... I suppose I did not think you would have put such stock in that life, the way things are now.

[ A thoughtful beat of silence, and she pours herself a cup as well. ]

Perhaps it makes me both selfish and a fool, but I feel... happy. That my presence has left enough of an impression on you to be missed.

[he looks at her. it's a mix of frustration, but also fondness]

[and then he leans in and... flicks her forehead. it's very light, but a forehead flick nonetheless]

The only foolish thing about it is that you hadn't considered it before.

[ She winces. just a bit. and gives him the slightest pout. ]

Of course I had considered it before. But things have changed so rapidly in such a short time for you I assumed this sort of thing would naturally change as well.

I don't think it's unreasonable to be pleasantly surprised.
